The Story Behind S³ SHAW SurveyTM

S³ SHAW Survey began approximately 15 years ago when Wes Shaw was developing a method to accurately assess concrete floors and determine the quantity of leveller required to remediate poorly poured slabs.

Over the years, the S³ SHAW formula has continually evolved to adapt to changing industry standards while improving the accuracy and consistency of estimations, tolerances, and averages.

For many years, surveys were completed manually. In 2025, S³ SHAW software was developed to simplify the process for technicians by introducing a proprietary grid-based system for collecting and assessing floor data.

In early 2026, S³ SHAW opened the app to everyone free of charge, giving contractors, technicians, and other industry professionals access to a consistent grid-based approach for collecting accurate survey data.

Once the survey data is submitted, S³ SHAW processes the information and produces detailed survey reports featuring proprietary heat maps and straightedge simulators. These tools help turn field measurements into clear, practical information that can be used to better understand floor conditions and plan remediation requirements.

What began as an effort to improve the accuracy of leveller estimates has evolved into a complete digital surveying system designed to make concrete-floor assessment more consistent, accessible, and data-driven.
